Have you always wanted to learn the ancient art of traditional wet felting? Then join us for a day of felting, a farm-to-table lunch and time with the sheep!

Level I: Make your Own Felted Placemat

 

 This 1-day workshop is an introduction to traditional wet felting. In this class you will learn about the history of felt and how the fibers come together to make fabric. The highlight will be making your very own placemat! 

  • Learn the fundamentals of how fiber turns to felt
  • Meet the sheep who provided the wool
  • Experience the magic of transforming fiber to felt
  • Enjoy a Farm-to-Table Lunch
  • Take home materials for a second project

Level II: Color and Design

 

The level II class allows you to continue on your journey of making magic by changing fiber to fabric. Prerequisite: Level I Felting

In this class you will learn:

  • The elements of creating felted art
  • Stitching and detailing that make your art piece spectacular!
  • Depth, colors and shadowing to give your art piece 3 dimensionality

Meet the Instructor:

Lynn GiIllespie is a  shepherd and fiber artist. She has been felting since 2007.  She has sold her work around the world and at local galleries. Lynn loves to work  from fleece to finished project and does every step of the process at home.
